Thanks Guys
@flame If you're serious about working in games, I would highly recommend getting an CG Art Degree of some kind. I wish I had more traditional art skills going into school, so I had to pretty much learn everything from the ground up and it was very difficult doing so.
My inspirations for crystal cavern were the Metroid Prime series, Dear Esther (game), Avatar (movie), and Hang son Doong cave in vietnam (largest cave in the world)
I have only seen/experienced one of those that you listed and you hit it very well.
Metroid Prime had a great environment and made it feel real, I think the fact that you could scan every plant, and creature added to that.
What do you mean by Traditional Art Skills (3D Modelling/Animation or more like Drawing/Sketching)?
