Oh man! I missed the vote on like the best poll I've ever seen. I would have voted Jack in the Box. It's not the best overall quality of food, but in the category of "fast food" it's the best on several different levels. Here's some key points to note:
1) Open 24/7 in most places. Not only that, they are open on major holidays (ie. Christmas and Thanksgiving). I've experienced this myself on two occassions. In both cases, not only was I stoked that they were even open, but the employees gave me GREAT service... they seemed excited to be there (must have been getting paid like triple time or something).
2) Burgers aren't Diner-Class or Shack-Class, but they are pretty close, and much better than McDs. They're a good balance between FF-Class and the higher grade burgers and offered at the FF price range.
3) You can roll into their drive through and order burgers, fish and chips, mozerella sticks, egg rolls, and tacos. Now THAT's America.
4) Extending on the 24/7 bit. Not only can you roll through any time of day or night, but this is one of the only (if not THE only) fast food joint where you can order breakfast or lunch any time of day. BAM!
5) Like the other big ones (McDs and BK), they offer a pretty competitive value menu, so you can get a bunch of food for little cash.
In conclussion, I'd like to re-emphasize that on at an item to item comparison, they don't necessarily beat everyone else (ie. DQ burgers are better in my opinion and Taco Bell tacos are better, etc). But the overall experience puts them #1 on my list.
