Hey i was wondering what games first got you guys addicted to gaming?
For me the first fps game that blew my mind was battlefield 1942. had so much fun on that game thats what got me addicted to fps games.
As far as rts games lord of the rings battle for middle earth is what got me addicted to those.

For the PC

My first multiplayer LAN game was Duke Nukem

My first Internet Multiplayer game was Quake 1 but I did some duke later as well..

AOL was using some protocol other than TCP/IP.. But I remember the day they switched over and Quake 1 worked! Wooo Woooo

But before that was Atari and NES.. and on and on it goes. Mostly Nintendo

Edit: Lets add some more action games.  Sega, it was Herzog Zwei, and Dune.  Then other similar games were introduced and copied them, games like the Command and Conquer series.  Then for the PC I would have to say it was the Mech Series of games.  MechCommander, MechCommander 2, MechCommander Gold, MechWarrior 3, MechWarrior 4, MechWarrior 4 Black Knight, and other Mech games.  If you want the .iso's of those games I just mentioned I could make them.  I have the original games.  They may be old, but are still pretty fun.

Then came along other FPS games like America's Army.  Then the support for Linux and Mac went away after version 2.5.0, so I started to look into other games.  Now my current list of games I like to play are these:

Yes, I used the Ba gua (aka:Trigrams) as bullets just to see if they would work...  I am always testing the limits of what a forum can/can not do.  Special characters are pretty cool to use when big bloated images are not needed.


And for the most game I play at this current time is Urban Terror.  As for why 1up servers?  They had the best ping at the time, so I started playing there.  I used to have colors added to the name I used, I think it was something like this. Cope57, but I gave up on making it look pretty.  Hell, I am going to go check out my stats, someone told me I was doing well or something like that.   

I do not play for the stats, I play for the fun, and the company.  Speaking of which, can we get rid of the bots if there are enough real people on the server?  Nothing like throwing a nade just to have Skippy jump in front of you as you throw your cooked nade.  Nade hits bot, nade falls inches from your feet, some words are said like Effing bot, and you go boom.  It happens more often than I can count.

first game to get me addicted....man that was some years ago, but would be from NES.....i would say prolly Ninja Gaiden. After that the original Metal Gear (then all of them over time).

The first PC game i really got into was a game called Nox.

its almost impossible to get a first though because i was not really heavy into gaming until my WoW days. thats really when i started playing much more and the quality of my gaming system actualy came to mind. WoW started my desire to create a gaming PC and then as new games came out, the better my system got.

i remember playing DOOM on PC when it was new.....that and playing Wolfenstein when that came out on PC......those were the days you had to boot them out of DOS.....good times
