Hi guys,

I don't post much, but I feel like the map rotation on the fun server is getting a bit stale.  I asked some of the players recently in-game, and several agreed with me.  So, I'm posting to get the ball rolling.  I'll obstain from suggesting any maps and leave that to the other players, though I may chime in later and throw my support behind some of them...

Thanks for an awesome server BTW, I totally dig it  :D...

Ron has just written some bot corrections to enable bots on maps that haven't worked reasonably well in the past, so he'll be adding those maps to the bot enabled servers, which should do the trick I think.

The next server build will have the features enabled to use bot_minplayers command without crashes. I will add ut4_elgin, ut4_tunis, ut4_oildepot, ut4_swim and ut4_turnpike.

Bots will only be present when there are less than 4 people on the server.
If I had the code that was used to compile urt --only the bot part, not the game, then I could have fixed many of the problems, but I don't have that code and I will not beg some dev team for it --I will find solutions of my own.

Man am I glad to see this, I've been thinking the same thing for a while. When you play the fun server at lot, it can get repetitive quickly. Any chance Bottle can be taken out of the cycle? It's way too small for TDM when you consider the size of the rest of the maps in the cycle.

Ditto.  Ron seems to always come through for us.  The bots have needed to come out of highly populated maps for some time...

Any maps coming out?  I don't have a particular problem with any of them, but I have noticed that bots don't work well in Floyd.  They get stuk on the ramps to the upper level, and they stay there until somebody kills them.

I am not the person who compiled the .aas files for those maps. I can try to recompile them and see if it makes a difference. Before I release this server build I will go through each map and make a new .aas file to see if I can even over-rite the ones in their existing .pk3 files (I think I can do it if it starts up before the game_assets, but after the game .qvm files load --that would be the trick).

sounds nice! i was wondering for the same thing about the maps, could there be any chance to add more maps to rotation but only have them enabled when there are more than 4 players so there is no need to code bot behavior for them?  dunno if thats even possible, just throwing that idea out  :P
