I should be picking Ron up at the airport around noon or earlier on Thursday, which is the 2nd. So we will be there from then on.

Good news, Pyrite. My son will be coming with me also after all.
We just secured his plane ticket and he will have a brand new laptop, details below. I need to buy his seat at QC now.
Since he is seven we can't have an strippers or lap dances during play this time, and please don't bring that bear-bong again.

Note that he will try to get some energy drinks from you but don't give him any because last time he drank at Red Bull @ Disney he was bouncing off the walls for about 10 hours (that was the first and last time).

That's great ... except, QC seats stopped selling months ago. I'm worried that all the reserved seats around us at our table are taken by other people. If it comes down to it, we can move (all of us) as a group, to another table. I'm also worried your son may not be able to get in on Thursday, as they normally don't let the first come first serve people into the BYOC until Friday (Chris had to do this once). I would inquire with someone before the trip about these concerns. May be you can ask on the unofficial qc forums (http://www.qconforums.org/), since most of the people on those forums are the volunteers themselves.

Either way, that is great news, and he will have the 2nd biggest time of his life (1st goes to Disney). Just don't forget the "Kid-stonned Chewable Valium".

What's the minimum age possible to go Quakecon (if there is one)
Where are they normally located
what's the cost to get IN to quakecon
and lastly
if i go next year, could someone meet me at the airport wherever quakecon is at, to pick me up?

Every year I have heard about them there were in Dallas, TX.

I believe if you were under 18 you needed a guardian, but I dont remember, Pyrite knows more.

The reason I am bringing my son this time is because his mother will be out of the country while I am in Dallas, and I prefer to have him with me rather than staying as a guest with non-relatives. Besides, he plays lots of the fps games we all play here at 1up. It will be like at home pretty much where he and I play Urt Zombie, Killing Floor, L4D2, and lots of other games. He will probably end up playing Toon Town for many of his hours. I am just glad that he gets to go with me and that he will now own a great laptop in addition to his awesome desktop. So, for me this is also a father-son trip.
