How it all started..

Well, here goes.. lol

Rum and Scream and I (Kik3n) started playing Urban Terror in December of 2008 (somewhere around there) For those of you who dont know we use to all live together (us 3) Scream is Rums younger Bro. His two younger 12 year old twin sisters also play. You may have seen them.. (Kitkat and FunnyBunny)

At first, when we were noobs we thought that the g36 was the **** ofcourse so we made up a clan called the [g36] clan.. just as a joke really (we scrimmed th and got stomped) lol Then we discovered better weapons and all that and grew out of noob phase and changed the clans name to 1up just because I am opening a video game store and thats probably going to be the name of it.

We played on Trigger Happy Server a lot and we loved it, we definetely improved quickly because we played there all the time. I actually wanted to try out for there clan eventually (when I was good enough) Then I came across a server called JSH and met Ronald Lee, his clan was the JSH clan. The more we played with Ron the more we loved 'em! lol After a while we decided we should join clans and start up a server. So we did.

We kept the 1up name and started the forum and the servers, and here we are.

I was just a veteran Quake III Arena player. Never played in a clan until I started the JSH Clan. I remember back in 2002 I used to play CTF baseq3 (no mods) on a 65 inch tv with mouse and keyboard extension wires. Sometimes I would play all night. I loved my Quake III. Then I stopped playing for 2 or 3 years. In 2004 my son, Jake, was born and by 2007 he was wanting to play. He quickly learned to use the mouse and do stuff on keyboards that most kids don't learn until after 5 years of age. He is 4 now, but he can start up the Quake III game and make his own lan server and play and issue some commands. I liked the fact that he learned the number 9 because he wanted the bind key for the BFG. So, Jake got really good at Quake III. In 2007, I started the JSH Clan. My friend, Tim (Flexan[1up]), joined and together it was Jake, Flex and myself. We put up 2 servers and I went to OSP. Only a few people ever came into our servers, I guess because people were playing something else. I found out that Urban Terror was the awesome mod. I checked on some servers and found they were getting alot of action. So, I decided to start a UT server. Flex and I played there. I also practiced at Beer Garden for a bit to get used to the differences between UT and Quake III. The configs are about the same; some differences, but the same foundation engine. Anyway, one day while Flex and I were playing the ut4_sanc map, along came these people with a 1up behind their names. They were really cool. They came back many times and I really found them to be awesome. We talked about merging the clans. We did. I could not be happier. Now the servers are getting play and I feel like part of something that is going to just get better each day. I am so glad to have met R***od, Kik3n and S*r*a*. When someone joins the 1up clan, they are coming into a family --not just a random group of people wearing a tag.

Thats cool. Ididnt know u guys started playing in December, for as good as u guys are. thats the same time i joined urt, well late December.

One of the first people i played with was rumgod , then the next time i saw him Kik3n was playing, and from what i remember we had fun!

That's very similar to how I started my CS clan gh0s7| (too long ago). Merging clans together that get along well not only boosts the ogive of the servers but also strengthens the clan (merged) it self. Its also amazing for resources, paying for servers forums websites scrims, tournaments (pro and am) and good old fashioned fun! Glad I found you guys.

Hey kik3n I remember you guys! Urban Terror is the first FPS I have ever really gotten into playing online and I started out playing at Trigger Happy. Those guys used to mop the floor with me back then (especially Lurch, I miss him), this was when I was playing as /=[]R|<_|3[]/V\|3. I remember when you guys started wearing those [G36] tags and I was like, "Man I wonder if I get good enough one day I can join those [G36] guys". Those were good times. Glad to see you again!

I think this generally explains where it came from... Kik3n hasn't opened that store yet, but you never know, it could still happen

For me and the resources I put into 1up, the clan officially started on March 1, 2009. I would say that 1up's birthday is March 1, 2009.

The first 1up server log started on March 2, 2009 (we merged then on March 1, 2009).
Our domain was registered on March 4, 2009.

Here are the bits and pieces from the server log (3/1/2009), when Kik3n and I merged JSH into 1up Clan:
