Terrible game i played it and its older brother. The older brother (which i can;t remember the name of) was much more userfriendly than this game. Not to mention to amount of Halo related graphics going on.

Their is a reason this game is free to play and its not so they can make more money with an item mall.

Would the game your thinking of be tribes 2 ? I played one and two not sure if there were any In between.

tribes ascend is prolly one of the more well balanced, extremely fast-paced games, with the class types(raider, soldier, juggernaut) all are neither op nor up except for doombringer's slight op. its a definite game to pick up, and albeit the learning curve might be high, its fun. the only downside is the pay2advance set-up with weapons and boost.

This game was featured last year at QuakeCon.
I have videos of it being played on giant screens.
I have been meaning to download it and get started, Quake.

Can't beat the price to get into the action. I don't mind other players buying their upgrades :p I play on the cheap when I can. Steam does have a $9.99 upgrade I'm tempted by though...

I remember playing tribes on ma dialup. Hell Ive still not been on broadband as many years as dialup.. Sigh feeling old.

This game is great. Halo-esque for sure, but remember, tribes came out a long time before Halo did. Plus it's better.

game is fun.....for a short while....but all you gotta do is be the "artillery" guy, slide around with smaller gun and hit near someone a couple times....its too easy....if i can join a game and immediately be first or second consistently, its just too easy...

graphics are ok....
overall gameplay is ok....
weapon upgrades are really not worth spending anything on them...
Cash store is a joke because of what i said above....
