KF won't launch on steam

Alright so when I had the killing floor free trial the game worked perfectly throughout the entire trial period. The day I bought the game it stopped working. I launch my steam, go to game library and click play on KF, the start up screen pops up, it say's killing floor is preparing to launch Killing Floor, I see the picture and then after about 2 seconds the program just stops running and quits. I have researched this online and found a million solutions that "may" work, some of them have but only for like 1 gaming session than it stops again. I have deleted and reinstalled steam, deleted and reinstalled killing floor, renamed files, deleted files, and nothing works. The game was fun, I want to continue playing especially if I can do so with some 1ups but I am at my wits end with this game. Anyone have this problem before and know how to actually fix it?

I tried helping him, but didn't succeed. He has a mac btw. Maybe Zod or someone can help that has a MacBookPro or something along the lines of it.

Go to your library through the client. Right click Killing floor. Go down to Properties. 3rd tab over (local files) should have some buttons on the right side. Click Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

It should download your missing files.

Flex had this problem, this is a universal way of fixing your games (Through steam).

agreed. however, this does not always work however. IF and only if this does not work, go into your actual steamapps folder, and delete the actual files. then go into macs version of the install/uninstall programs section and uninstall it. finally go into steam and verify that steam thinks its uninstalled. if not do that. then re-install.

clearing the folder ensures files are ALL deleted

uninstalling through mac OS somewhat ensures registry files are removed.

and uninstalling through steam....well self explanatory.

maybe try backing up your games through steam, delete it completely and then restore it, dunno

I have verified the files on steam multiple times without issue, I have deleted all game files but no harm trying it again a different way. I will let y'all know how that goes.

thinking about it....by chance did your video drivers recently update? could be an issue with them

Did this and it is finally working...for now haha. Thanks for the help.

Okay so it stopped working again but I found a solution that appears to be working with some consistency. I did an advanced search through the HD finder (you must hit the plus button under the search bar), scroll down to "other" and select "system files", you then need to change your search preferences to "include". Once you have done all that and found all system files if you will launch killing floor through the biohazard icon instead of through steam it should launch without issue.
So for any Mac users in the clan who have trouble with Killing Floor this should work, if not PM and I have read and memorized a million other solutions that work for other people.
