I am talking about an arms war, not one incident in general. People die every day to poverty, hunger, Gang wars. I wont get all butthurt when I wasn't there and I Couldn't have done anything to stop them, it's unfortunate yeah but that is life you gotta take the good with the bad and focus on improving for everyone's sake not the individual which is all some of you are even concerned with.

Picture yourself in that theatre 20 rows up sitting in the middle with your closest family sitting on both sides of you. I'd want a ****ing gun right about then. Your karate skills are useless nerds.. He's 20 row up.. Everyone's cramming to get on the ground and those above the seat level are easy targets.. What the **** do you do?

Theory craft is just that, theory craft. I would answer with a combat strategy but that is just stupid. Why would anyone even consider taking this question seriously?

Word to the wise, you will never win this Argument. As far as the WBC you just have to deal with the fact that there are people like that out there, Not much you can do about it unless you decide that their lives are worth your freedom.

Picard, you argument is flawed.  Define defense.  When you defend yourself with a firearm, you shoot to kill.  Define hunt. Do you seriously think that because it might be called a hunting rifle, no one will ever use it to kill a human?  A gun is a gun.  Period.  If I wanted to inflict real damage from a distance, I would get a long-range hunting or sniper rifle.  If I wanted to inflict damage up close, I would use either a shotgun or a handgun.  If I were psycho enough to want to do damage in a crowd, I would use a shotgun and explosives (grenades, etc).  150 yards and closer would be the only time I would ever prefer using a small-calibre rifle (ie:assault rifle).

Guns are designed to kill.  Period.  With proper placement, any gun can kill with one shot.

Average time for a burglar to break into a home is less than 1 minute.
Police times vary by city obviously but some of the bigger cities are around 8-11 minutes (Average) some sooner some longer..
Our small little town still took at least 5 minutes when Maddog and I had a dude on the ground..

There are always armed police at the theatres here, they are just in the front lobby, response also hampered by confusion of people fleeing.

Guns are always going to be accessible.  If someone is going to commit a crime, they're already doing something illegal, so why would they care about gun laws?  Its just another law to break. 

No one is saying that guns should just be handed out to every citizen.  What we are saying is that law-abiding citizens are born with the right to defend themselves, and deserve to defend themselves in whatever manner they see fit.  The criminals will ALWAYS have guns.  Gun legislation only harms those who are not criminals.

The batman massacre is a tragedy.  But lets not get swept away by the actions of a lunatic (a guy who would've killed with bombs if no guns were available, btw).  The discussion surrounding this tragedy has been deliberately piloted towards the subject of guns by the mainstream media.  In all reality, mental health is the issue here.  A psycho killed a dozen innocent people, and for some strange reason, no one is trying to find out why.  No one saw the signs of his instability.  Thats the real issue.  Lets not jump on this asinine "guns are evil" bandwagon that has been conveniently and deliberately pushed further down the road following the unthinkable events in that movie theater.
