Ok so i have a question prolly best directed towards ron because he is a lawyer. Lets say i know this girl thats 16 and a guy thats 17 and i send them a text saying i know they had sex. is that illegal? could i get in trouble for that? kinda a random question but its pretty important. Thanks

It could be considered sexual harassment but it is so flimsy of a case I wouldn't even bother reporting it. Worst thing that could happen is they say that's gross why are you asking that and just stop talking to you.


But what do I know? I'm no lawyer. lol

1. I am not a lawyer.
2. It is not illegal to send that text as worded (I wonder how you "know" for certain if you were not there).
3. Your parents could probably do something in regards to you getting in trouble for sending the text.

Let me be more clear. I know the girl and im trying to protect her from anything illegal and i thought the guy was 18 so i thought they had had sex illegaly. i told him i knew they had had sex (from what he had told me) and he said that it was sexual harassment and he was going to call the cops. note that i did find out he is only 17.

If you really care about this girl and want to protect her, you should be talking with her, not her partner.  Why would you ever text the guy?  What good could come from that?  Talk to the girl as a friend.

I highly doubt that you could have any legal repercussions from your text message.  But such stupidity could definitely cause you to loose a friend.

its not "sexual harassment".....its normal harassment technically. BUT it is a simple text message. you were not texting him over and over i assume. But for a single text, there is nothing they can do. They can call the cops and AT MOST you might get a warning. I am not a lawyer, but i clearified it with an Army lawyer buddy of mine.

Personally though, i dont know why you would involve yourself in someone esles sex life. What they do is what they do. They are old enough to make their own mistakes as far as im concerned. Plus i never saw the point of it all.....15 with a 17.... LEGAL.....16 with an 19....ILLEGAL.....WTF....they are both 2 years difference. if he was like 20 or higher.....then i would be like WTF....
