Blacklight Retribution video card error

I tried to play BLR yesterday,
but when i started the game it said my video card doesn't meet the minimum requirements.
My video card is a geforce 640, and should easily be able to run this game.
When i try to run the game anyway it becomes really laggy and doesn't respond anymore in some minutes.
does anybody have a suggestion on how to fix this?

Try reducing the graphics under the main settings, stick with low detail on the maps and characters, see if that helps. Also try different resolutions.

yeah i forgot to tell that, i set everything to low detail and no special effects, and it didn't make a difference.
and I'm trying different resolutions right now, i hope that will help
