Code of ConductThe follow code applies to 1up Clan and the [1upZ] subdivision of 1up Clan.
Introduction. A person who wears the 1up Clan tag (or the [1upZ] tag) is a representative of 1up Clan. The manner in which such a person conducts himself or herself undoubtedly reflects upon 1up Clan as an institution.
Standards. The following standards, although not inclusive of every situation that may arise, are meant to provide ethical guidance to help clan members decide how to conduct themselves:
- A 1up shall respect others.
- A 1up shall abide by the 1up Server Rules.
- A 1up shall protect the integrity of 1up game and voice servers, and shall not spam or flood a server with multiple commands.
- A 1up shall not abuse any power or privilege assigned to him or her, nor wrongfully restrict or inhibit any other legitimate player from using and enjoying 1up server or related services.
- A 1up who plays on a non-1up server shall give respect to others, with the understanding that the actions of a single clan member can reflect upon the clan as an institution.
- A 1up shall not use or distribute sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive language (including, by way of example, but not limited to, ethnic slurs and religious epithets), content, character names, titles, descriptions, or in-game labels (including, by way of example, but not limited to, offensive or inappropriate player names, pet names and inscriptions).
- A 1up shall not, while playing a game, willfully exhibit or partake in behavior that is substantially disruptive to the game’s normal playability.
- A 1up shall not, while using 1up voice servers, exhibit or partake in behavior that demonstrates a pattern of disrespect to another 1up, or which is meant to substantially disrupt others who are using the 1up voice servers. In using 1up voice servers, a 1up shall not defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights of any other person.
- A 1up shall not impersonate members from other gaming clans.
- A 1up shall not violate any local, state, national, or international laws or regulations.
- A 1up shall not conceal information that a player is suspected of hacking, or intentionally hide or falsify information that is relevant to a hacking inquiry.
- A 1up shall remain loyal to 1up, forsaking all other clan enlistment or invitation-to-join requests. Multi-clan membership is not permitted, thus a 1up shall not be a member of any other clan but 1up.[1]
- A 1up shall wear and display the 1up tag as a condition of 1up membership. Evidence that establishes a deliberate, willful and unjustified act of not using the 1up tag shall be a basis for sanctions.
- A 1up who acts in the capacity of an Admin or Referee shall wear and display the 1up tag at all times, save for periods of justified aliasing (such as in the pursuit of investigating cheating allegations or like performance of duties). A 1up Admin or Referee who refuses without justification to wear and display the 1up tag shall be removed from official duties and/or subjected to further sanctions, if any.
Remedies. A 1up who violates the Code of Conduct may be subjected to a warning or other notice, but egregious, serious, or repeated violations can result in other sanctions, such as a temporary or permanent server ban or other ban, without warning. In addition, other sanctions may include suspension or expulsion from 1up Clan, or any other remedy as is deemed appropriate.
