Thank you for not being to specific, otherwise it becomes a chore to create something exactly the way one asks instead of letting the artist do what they like.
Lets see, the colors I chose were from the armor of the character, which was a steel blue.  I used the color picker for selecting the color, and then used a program called Agave, that I used to find complimentary colors to the steel blue.   From there it is the render, some effects and some brush strokes...

After trying to figure out what a chipmunk actually looked like, I made something that looks nothing like one.
So, here you go.  Avatar size, original size, and the .xcf GIMP file so you can modify it if need be.  You know... to modify it for holidays and what not.

You asked me for a banner in a pm, but no details about the banner at all.  I do not know where to start, so here is 61 banners to choose from. [link]
Pick one, and I will put your name on it, of if you use the GIMP, PhotoShop or some other editing software, you can add it yourself.

Now that you have picked a banner, what did you want me to do to it?
I can add your name, colors,gradients, distortions, and other aspects to change it.

Hmm, I think I will come up with a banner creation document to ask the simple stuff.
Banner request form:
If any areas are left blank then there is no preference.

Name:  (Username or other)
Size:  (500x150 maximum)
Colors:  (colors you want or do not want)
Border:  (Yes, style or colors/ No, none)
Font:  (font style and or size)
Theme/Style:  (dark, light, UrT, b/w, etc...)

So, from the above information, I have the banner you liked.



Any other modifications, let me know, right now I am going to be placing your name on it, and trying different fonts to see what I think looks best.  I may even add some color to it, now is there any colors your do NOT want on there?  Pink, Purple,Orange, and Yellow are the most common colors that guys seem to avoid, unless it is some rainbow theme with other colors.

[X] Font:  As for the Bookman Old Style font, I did happen to have it.  I was surprised I did, even though I have over seven thousand FREE fonts. Bookman Old Style must have been given to me from another project I completed.
