Making funstuff, need help
« on: October 28, 2010, 03:03:15 PM »
Hello,

A while ago I wanted tried to make funstuff, it's my first project, so it's pretty new for me. I got an idea, and started with it. But now I want to see how it looks like in UrT, but I don't know where I have to save it, what name I have to give it, and other things I may need to do. Can someone tell me what I need to do to open it in UrT?

If you could get that to me (textured i could add it to the funstuff pack probably or make a new one) :D
Cause it looks good.

Thx both for answering. Before I send it to anyone, my plan is to see how it actually is in Urt, just run some kind of test. I want to continue the 'proces', I mean I want to work on it again, I haven't done anything to it the last few weeks, but before I do that, I just want to see what I made untill now. But I don't know how... :-\

So if someone could give me the information I need for this, I can test it, and can consider it sending it to people  ;)

Btw, Flame, I don't use xfire  :-[

ok here i will go and try

and btw you can see it in a 3d view with a camera entity placed in blender by pushing F12

ok you will need to find a .md3 export script that works and put it in your Blender<.blender<scripts folder
heres a link http://www.katsbits.com/files/md3/blender-md3.zip

then go open your .blend and export it as a md3 (since you dont seem to care how to texture it at the moment we will skip the shader path stuff but if you want to texture it (add art), ask dougy he's good at texturing them)

in your urban terror make this folder path in your q3ut4 folder models<players<funstuff<(your file)

your file has to be specialy named it will be name_(team-use first letter b=blue r=red)_(player model-playe model of the character model you made this for 0=1st 1=2nd 2=3rd 3=3rd)_(location-0=head funstuff 1=body funstuff)

an example would be myhat_r_1_0 myhat_r_0_0 for the first and second models of the character selection on the red team

now go in urban terror and type in \funstuff name(only the main part not the end so in this case myhat)

so after the \funstuff myhat we look in our mirror and see what we have it wont be textured or colored yet except for a orange or black color on it but it lets you see the shape :p

if any more explanation is needed just ask

Okay, I downloaded an .md3 sxport script, and put it in the right folder. Blender shows a .md3 option in the export menu, so that's good. When I click that option, I get an error. It says: "Python script error. Check console". I will add a picture of the console.

I downloaded a 2.49 Python API reference, and I put it in the blender script folder. I don't know if that is the right map, I just tried something, but I still get the error. I mean, trying something is better than not trying ;)

I think I get the last part about the name, but I haven't tried that yet, because I get stuck in the export part...
