I had a GL station wagon..  85 or 87 or something.  Toughest thing I ever owned.  I used to pull trailers with it, load it full of tools.  I finally TRIED to kill it out in the desert.  About 40miles in, I finally broke a timing belt, otherwise it might have ran another 50k.  My buddy who was following me couldn't keep up in a jeep Cherokee.  We filled it full of fireworks, lit them all, and pushed it into a coolie.

I love Fords!! are sturdy, the engines are durable,I like them cause are not complicated (not like the ones of those
Cadillacs Scalade) than are expensier but...idk, Cadillacs trucks are those weird mixture of luxury and tool for work machines than do not convince me much...

in my list of preferences after Ford comes Dodge,from Chevrolet I like the Corvettes, but is not the theme here...I know...

in Spain so far the only american motor brand that is in the market is Ford,some Dodge cars and pick up trucks have recently entered the market, and some GM.

A few years ago a chain of shops called "Dream Cars" closed their doors...they only specialized in american cars, since the american car is a very potent machine (8 cilinders) and thus consume a lot of gas...and the parts of those cars are expensive,the insurance...besides, you have to have them locked them in a parking...are cars too expensive too maintain, and the economical crisis made all the prices go up in a exaggerated way, so less and less of those cars were being sold.

Gas price in Barcelona : 1 gallon= $7 

more or less...sometimes even higher...so, having an american car (imported from USA or Germany) is now a real luxury...

Germany has a great american car market.The biggest and the most varied of all Europe.
You can find anything there:collector,brand new,second hand,custom etc....

I still remember (I did not have much experience then) I brought a car from USA, I paid $3000 for its transportation, SF port to Barcelona port ) I had to abandon the car in the port...cause in order to pass the custom I had to homologate the car...it costed about $8000 ...so I prefered to abandon the car...it was hard though.
