pyrite, they aren't called hilux, but they're the same thing. Hilux was the name they seemed to arbitrarily gave to the no-name toyota pickups before there was t100 and tacoma. Theres virtually no difference in terms of chasis and motor. I use a hilux maintenance manual to work on mine. I've got a 77, an 81, an 83, and and an 84. All outstanding little trucks. The 77 has an r20 where the other three all have r22. Basically indestructible trucks. I've put well over 2k lbs in them and have no problem rolling down the highway with it. (or stopping it) The motor is about to finally blow up in the 81 (which my company has adorned with the name 'clyde') and I've heard rumors of using a 4cyl Cadillac diesel motor in them, which sounds oh so cool, but I'll probably just buy another r22 for dirt cheap and get another 300k out of it. Yours actually had a 22r-efi (fuel injected) but a badass little pickup at any rate. Nice condition too. Too bad you couldn't bring it home, it would be worth a mint here. So glad to meet another hilux fan.
I now drive a 99 t100 v6 with a crew cab, and frankly, its the best vehicle I've ever owned.
