LMAO I've been going back and forth with him on this for a while now.

Chevy smallblocks:
265
283
302
305
327
350
383
400

Chevy bigblocks:
348
366
396
402
409
427
454
502
572

Granted, a big-block could be destroked to become a 350, but as I outlined before, doing so would result in an engine that almost definitely would have less power and torque than a SBC.  Why would Chevy ever build such an engine?  They wouldn't, and to the best of my knowledge didn't.

Ok well if ya'll don't believe me then ya'll are just going to have to see it with your own eyes and ya'll can call a specialist if that is what ya'll want. My grandfather was 5th ranked at GM in DAllas, Texas. He went to college for three years just to learn everything you can on the 91 model make. That was the first year they did a lot of stuff. Like I said He told me that it was an experiment to see what the engine would do. They obviously didn't like the outcome of it so they didn't produce any more. There weren't that many made so they probably didn't put it out into the public. If anybody should know it would be my grand father. My truck was built in Arlington, Texas. Yes my truck has a very rare engine in it and has to run a little different but my truck runs just fine the way it is. I would really like for ya'll to stop criticizing me. I am not dumb. I know what I am talking about. I have grown up into this and this is probably what I am going to be doing for the rest of m life. Oh and by the way have you never heard of 350 Big Blocks at the Drag Strips? I sure have and have seen them with my eyes too. I don't make **** up and I'm not a ****ing dumbass. Ya they cost more and aren't common in a everyday vehicle or even in a factory vehicle but they were experimenting with different engines. If you want to know what else they did that year then ask and don't think that ever thing you see or don't see on google is real. People just post what they want you to hear or see just like the military. A lot of stuff didn't even make it on the road course. They produced 350 Big Block engines in K5 Blazers until 1991 then stopped they must have tried to fix the problem and tried it again in 1993. Like I said I am tired of everyone criticizing every damn thing I say and this is the only way I can make myself clear. Don't take any of this personal. I don't have anything against ya'll. Ok, so don't think that is what I am saying. Also like I said I might measure my engine this summer when it is warmer.

Measurements dont lie.  Get a tape measure out and take measurements in the areas defined on the diagram I posted a while back.  You'll see.

Also, I'm 22 years old, and I'm a huge fan of anything automotive.  I have watched literally hundreds of videos of dyno pulls and drag runs.  Never have I found a Chevy 350 Big Block.  Not once.  Any 350 car at a drag strip has a SBC.  Most guys who drag actually put in a 400SBC crank, resulting in a 383 (its late, but IIRC, that math works).

The K5 blazer didn't have a BB.  From '81 to '91, the 350SBC was the biggest engine you could get in a K5, so maybe its just a difference in terminology.  Someone might say it has the "big engine" or something like that when referring to a K5's 350.

I know that you aren't trying to lie.  You're simply regurgitating what you've been told by others.  Sorry to tell you, but you were told wrong.  The pictures you posted look like a 350SBC to me, but I still am curious to know what the measurements reveal.

If your family is somehow correct, I find it odd that there is zero record of such an engine anywhere.  I even researched GM experimental engines and couldn't find any 350BBs.  Seems like collectors would be all over those engines.  Hardcore Chevy collectors want anything and everything rare, even if it was a failed experiment.

Datsun and Nissan were the same company at this time (correct me if I am wrong).

I've been looking for one of these for years.  I'd buy one with no motor or tranny if I could find one, but you know what?  Never came across one.  i.e. anyone who has one, is clutching on to it with a death-grip.

He already did posted pictures of it.  I'm more of a Chevy guy than a ford guy, and I myself have never heard of the motor either.  IM NOT CALLING TERM AN IDIOT! I'm just saying, I know my chevy motors okay and I've never heard of one.. THAT doesn't mean it doesn't exist..

I think he's taking our skepticism a little personally; we're just enthusiasts, and when we hear about something we've never heard of before, we get all hot and bothered.
I was also a certified machinist out of high-school, and worked for a small company preparing rebuilds for a while. i.e. milling heads, boring blocks, port and polishing etc..  350sbc and 351sbf are probably the motors we saw more of than anything else.  (probably more-so than all other motors combined)  TO ME, the pictures he posted appear to be that of a small-block.  At a glance, if I were being tested, I'd guess chev350 to be safe JUST based on the valve covers.. i.e.  their length, distance apart from each-other etc..

I AM NOT A SPECIALIST, by ANY stretch of the imagination! My knowledge is very limited, so I am stepping out of this conversation until further notice.  I'm just saying, term, its a double-edged sword:  Don't act like we're idiots for not knowing about your extremely rare engine, and don't get so defensive over Maddog's insatiable curiosity.  I too, am intrigued.

Ya I heard they are some good trucks. My Grandfather had one when he was in Alaska. He said he had fun driving it and nothing would stop it. Lol Even when he meet a Caribou. Well thats a funny story , not sure if it is true, but thats one of his stories he told me about when he was in Alaska.
