Granted, a big-block could be destroked to become a 350, but as I outlined before, doing so would result in an engine that almost definitely would have less power and torque than a SBC.  Why would Chevy ever build such an engine?  They wouldn't, and to the best of my knowledge didn't.

Measurements dont lie.  Get a tape measure out and take measurements in the areas defined on the diagram I posted a while back.  You'll see.

Also, I'm 22 years old, and I'm a huge fan of anything automotive.  I have watched literally hundreds of videos of dyno pulls and drag runs.  Never have I found a Chevy 350 Big Block.  Not once.  Any 350 car at a drag strip has a SBC.  Most guys who drag actually put in a 400SBC crank, resulting in a 383 (its late, but IIRC, that math works). 

The K5 blazer didn't have a BB.  From '81 to '91, the 350SBC was the biggest engine you could get in a K5, so maybe its just a difference in terminology.  Someone might say it has the "big engine" or something like that when referring to a K5's 350.

I know that you aren't trying to lie.  You're simply regurgitating what you've been told by others.  Sorry to tell you, but you were told wrong.  The pictures you posted look like a 350SBC to me, but I still am curious to know what the measurements reveal. 

If your family is somehow correct, I find it odd that there is zero record of such an engine anywhere.  I even researched GM experimental engines and couldn't find any 350BBs.  Seems like collectors would be all over those engines.  Hardcore Chevy collectors want anything and everything rare, even if it was a failed experiment.

I was also a certified machinist out of high-school, and worked for a small company preparing rebuilds for a while. i.e. milling heads, boring blocks, port and polishing etc..  350sbc and 351sbf are probably the motors we saw more of than anything else.  (probably more-so than all other motors combined)  TO ME, the pictures he posted appear to be that of a small-block.  At a glance, if I were being tested, I'd guess chev350 to be safe JUST based on the valve covers.. i.e.  their length, distance apart from each-other etc.. 

I AM NOT A SPECIALIST, by ANY stretch of the imagination! My knowledge is very limited, so I am stepping out of this conversation until further notice.  I'm just saying, term, its a double-edged sword:  Don't act like we're idiots for not knowing about your extremely rare engine, and don't get so defensive over Maddog's insatiable curiosity.  I too, am intrigued.
